Lessons to teach my sisters:
Things I wish I could save my sisters from having to learn on their own:
Bad people are bad people, no matter how much you love them or how much you wish it weren’t so.
I want to fuck you does not mean I love you, and vice versa.
Miserable people will poison your life, and make you miserable.
Surround yourself with good people. Good people will rub off on you too, in positive ways.
People that lie tend to make a habit out of it. Be careful who you trust.
When someone tells you the truth about themselves, listen and believe them, no matter how much you don’t like what you’re hearing or wish it were different.
You can’t change anybody. No matter how much you want to. No matter how much they want you to.
Love alone is not enough. It is one of life’s cruelest realities.
Choose your friends carefully. You will need them at some point. They will matter more than you will ever predict.
Do things that make you feel good about yourself. Confidence and self esteem come from actions that make you feel confident and build your esteem.
Be the woman you hope your (future) daughter will be or your (future) son will marry.
Carefully consider anything that makes you feel ashamed, embarrassed, or humiliated. Good things in life will not make you feel this way.
It is never too late to be different or to make a different choice.
I love them so much. If my scarred heart could save them from scars of their own, I would welcome it gladly.

i carry your heart with me ( i carry it in
my heart ) i am never without it ( anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling )
i fear
no fate ( for you are my fate,my sweet ) i want
no world ( for beautiful you are my world, my true )
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
e. e. cummings
this just full out made me tear up.
